Great saw Great saw. Good power to weight ratio, easy to maneuver. Super easy starting. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a good saw. January 19, 2012
Great Saw I purchased my 359 about 4 years ago and it has been my go to saw ever since! It is very reliable and can handle anything you can throw at it. I cut firewood almost year round on my farm and it has always risen to whatever challenge I have put it through! Just an all around great saw! January 17, 2012
Imagine my disappointment... While trying to determine why the engine on my 359 seized-up, I discovered two other reviews submitted by 359 owners with the exact same problem. My saw had about 15 hours use when it became hard to start and simply would not idle. The only way to do any cutting was to get it started and keep the rpms high. Less than one tank of fuel later the engine was seized-up. Apparently, the engine was running too lean because of faulty seals or gaskets. Buyers should definitely avoid this saw. Current owners should prepare themselves for a catastrophic and very costly engine failure. The 359 is advertised as being a “robust mid-range professional saw…with raw strength in a wide range of speeds.” That is what I expected when I purchased this saw. Now I’m faced with a repair bill of over $300.00 …you can imagine my disappointment. January 9, 2012
CARB ISSUES Upon purchasing 359xp E-Tech no problems 5yrs ago until two summers ago when started having problems restarting saw in hot weather. Tried everything under the sun to try to aleviate the problem come to find out the return spring on the choke was not set tight enough from the factory. Choke was only returning to 1/4 of full operation, tightened return spring 1 rotation now the 359 is running awesome with the carb adjustment that I made had to re-tune the saw throttle position. 359-A fantastic Saw! WOW-I was pleasantly surprised with my new saw. I upgraded an old Mcculloch ProMac. I really like the power (even with the long bar). Low vibration is a real plus and the light weight makes my job easier. The Husqvarna's starting system is great. I shopped different brands and power levels. I believe that Hussqvarna has the best saw for the price! November 23, 2011
Engine Failed at less than 100 hours After reading another review with an amazingly similar problem to mine, I decided to post my review. I used the saw last summer and some this fall...less than 100 hours running time. The dealer said the air induction gasket failed allowing the engine to run too lean and burn up the cylinder and piston. How did it happen? No explanation...just a repair estimate for $325. Certified independent dealers are the only ones to work on the saw, very nice and knowledgeable. Additionally the oil pump uses a plastic gear which has been replaced twice..one under warranty and one for $100. This saw has some design problems in my opinion. November 4, 2011
This product has plenty of power This product replaced my Husqvarna 61 and I noticed no decrease in power with the 359-e. With the power comes the weight which is at times tiring while limbing. I love the larger gas tank as compaired to my Stihl MS250 which gives the 359-e longer running time. November 1, 2011
