HUSQVARNA 460 Rancher
Saw starts easily, out performs every other saw I own.I will not buy another brand from now on . We had wind storms that put 21 trees on the ground. My other saws were not big enough or powerful enough to cut the large oaks and maples. Highly recommend this saw for any land owner that has large amount of cutting to do or uses wood for heat.

A beast for $500!
So i have an Echo CS-400 and it served me very well over the years but i wanted to try a bigger saw and webt to Lowes and bought a 450 Rancher; what a junk! The oiler didnt put out any oil for few minutes out of the box, the chain overheated and now it's almost impossible to restart the saw without starting fluid when its warm..
So i decided to try even bigger saw and went to Lowes again and got the last 460 Rancher with a 24" bar.. Who wants a 18 or 20" bar when this one has a 24"!
It starts every time, hot or cold, even without decomp., cuts very well, has lots of power, just a great saw for big drees and big jobs.
Gas guzzler, muffler pointed forward so wear ear plugs because the exhaust bounces pff of the tree when you cut, cant find oiler adjustment to increase bar oil and the chain is only Special Order!!! Send more 24" chains to Lowes!!!
So thats it, big saw for big jobs and it's definitely worth $500.

Very short chain life
Even the saw works, the chains three of them one after the other with 10-12 14" cuts are rendered useless ( They are Husqvarna brand) I try to sharpen them with no result. I had Stihls and Oregon smaller and cheaper in the past, and I thought I was step in up to the 460, but somehow i feel something is wrong. The chains should not be dull in 10 cuts. There is no communication to the Manufacturer for support and advise.

I have several chainsaws in my arsenal to attack the sweetgum invasion on my property in North Carolina. A little Mac for piddling around and clearing saplings. A Husqvarna 137 is my limbing saw due to its light weight. The old 55 Rancher was my workhorse saw for 14 years. She is a little tired and has served me well with never a breakdown. I decided to retire the 55 and move it to back up status. This will become the saw to loan to my kids ! I go down to my Husqvarna dealer with the intentions of replacing the 55 with the updated 455 Rancher. Sitting there beside it was the 460. My consultant (wife) says for a few dollars more get this one . After assembly out of the box, I added gas and oil and fired her up. With the first rev I knew this is not a 55. I started in on hickory and oak, and was truly amazed at the power and cutting speed of the 460. I am looking forward to another 14 years of working with this beast
Only orange in my shed from now on !!

Just got the 460 and have run two tanks of fuel through it. So far, so good. Another quality Husky product. Plenty of power even with the 24 in. bar on it. Starts easy, and is extremely easy to maintain and adjust so far. I've reviewed a 435 and a 346xp as well, and once again You Can't Go Wrong With a Husky!

Purchased the saw September 2012. Used it less than 2 hours. Won't start and can't determine why. Cut when would start, but no value because will not run. Wish I had never made the purchase.

spend a little more
After 25 + years of buying craftsman and Polan chainsaws and have them give up in short order.I finally found a chainsaw that is going to last.

A beast of a chainsaw
This machine is AWESOME! I have 10 acres in Louisiana with lots of trees. This chainsaw starts with little or no effort.
It is just plain and simple a chainsaw that does everything I need !
I would recommend this saw to anyone !
