Cutting cedar trees I am using this saw to cut fence posts on my ranch. Felling trees is a breeze with this saw. It's a consistent starter. The chain remains tightened throughout continuos cutting. Very powerful and reliable saw. I'm impressed with the overall performance of the saw. i recommend this saw to ranchers, farmers or persons who need more power and durability. February 24, 2011
Great saw except We've had this saw a little over a year. We heat our home with wood, so it has seen a lot of use over the last year. Overall, it has been a great saw. It is tons better than the saw we replaced it with. That being said, the last time the saw was used, my son had to stop prematurely because the part that tightens the chain is either jammed or broken. This just happened, so we haven't taken it to the repair shop yet. I am disappointed that the saw needs a repair just a year after we purchased it. February 24, 2011
Hard working saw Great specially for chopping fallen trees. A little too heavy for comfortable downing trees, although manageable. Very good power, easy starting. February 24, 2011
Great saw I do a lot of firewood cutting for myself and others. I love the power of this saw and it's reliability and durability. I have used it now for about 2 seasons and have cut probably 18-20 full cords of wood, mostly Oak. Earlier this year I was about 15 feet up a tree and as the limb started to come my way I had to reluctantly toss my saw to the ground to hold on. it took a hidious bounce as it hit the ground. On inspection the saw seemed fine and the bar was not bent (because the body took the impact) so I gave it a pull and she started right up (as always) and has continued to run like a dream. I have pushed this saw to the max and it continues to outlast me on every trip! Scott, CA. February 24, 2011
Awsome 460 Rancher I have had my 460 rancher for two years now and would not trade it for any other brand. This saw has all the power anyone would need. Once you start to saw hold on because it will go through a 16inch log in seconds. I highly recomend this chain saw to anyone whole loves to cut fire wood or simply uses a chainsaw for work or around the ranch. I give this saw 5 stars. I will never leave the Husqvarna family. 460 rancher chainsaw I bought the Husky saw about two years age, and have have cut approximately 15-20 cords of firewood without any problems. It is a very durable piece of equipment. If it ever wears out, I will probably replace it in kind. February 24, 2011
Good saw for the money I'm using this saw for sawing small quantities of milled lumber. I read this is a hard use for saws, but so far I've had no problems with heat build up or excessive wear. I do keep the chain sharp and the rpm up so cooling is as good as it can be. Also clean out around the fan and cylinder if build up occurs. Only problem I've encountered was my glove somehow snagged on the throttle safety lever's spring and resulted in breaking the plastic lever. This was easily replaced for around $12 and had no problems since. I would like more power as in the bigger versions but cost per size, it's hard to beat. February 24, 2011
Rancher 460 I like everything about the saw except the bar oil leaks constantly. It would be better if the bar oil would only release from the tank when it is running, by a motion valve or some other mechanism so that when you are done and transporting the saw it doesn't get bar oil on anything it sits on. Also you should include a chain/bar cover with the saw. February 24, 2011
