Replacing chain When replacing chain - If you forget to unlock the chain brake you will find it hard to get the cover off. If you do get he cover off, you won't be able to get it back on. The easy fix is to 1) unscrew the clutch 2) replace cover 3) pull back the release handle unlocking brake 4) screw clutch back on 5) Reassemble. Great saw! March 15, 2012
NOT WORTH THE MONEY !!!!!!!!!!!! I baught this saw to cut home firewood about 3 cord a year. Which means that it was only used for an average of 15-20 hours per year than stored in my shed. I am very displeased to say that after only 4 seasons and a total of only 60-100 hours on the saw it stopped working. After taking it to the dealer where i baught it i was told it would cost than what i paid for the saw new to fix it. NOT WORTH THE MONEY AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!! I have a much cheaper brand limb saw that is 10 years old and have never had a problem since buying it.. March 10, 2012
Finally...a chainsaw for all! We have been though so many different brands and sizes....from too heavy to lift, too lite weight and not able to cut a sapling. Now it is all in one....power to spare, and easy to handle, easy to start, and so much quieter. I love my Husqvarna Ranch hand!! January 18, 2012
Great saw!! I bought this saw about 1 year ago and love it. I have 2 wood stoves and use about 6-7 full cords of wood each winter. This saw has taken on everything. I run a 20 inch bar and with a sharp chain it almost cuts the wood itself. Great saw, easy to change chains and keep tension correct. January 6, 2012
Light weight yet powerful enough... This is a chainsaw that is light weight enough for me, a woman, to handle. It is easy starting which is something that my Jonsared chainsaw was not. December 16, 2011
Hard working chain saw. NICE I bought my 455 rancher e series chain saw in March of 2011. The saw cuts on average 1.5 to 2 cord per tank of fuel. it will cut all I can handle and then sum. I cut on average 40 - 50 cord a month. The only problem I have come acrossed is I keep breaking chain adjusters. I don't know why but Husqvarna sent me a new3 one when I brought it to their attention. I am very satisfied with customer service and my saw. Husqvarna 455, 965-09-28-00 November 23, 2011
Great saw I purchased this saw two years ago from my father-in-law who is a Husqvarna dealer in Montana. I use this saw exclusively for cutting firewood in northern Arizona. We cut a lot of ponderosa, Douglas-fir, aspen, juniper, pinyon, and a little scrub oak. The saw handles great and starts without fail. Easy to adjust the bar tension and change chains. The only down side was figuring out how to unlock the rotation after I threw the chain one time. Eventually had to pry loose the lock manually with a Leatherman even though I'm sure that's not how you're supposed to disengage it. September 30, 2011
Couldn't ask for a more dependable saw! I own two of these chainsaws now! I recently purchased a second due due an increase in tree cutting this year. I have had my other 455 Rancher for over four years and it is one of my company's most dependable and trusted tools. We use it daily, and in four years never a breakdown! Great power, easy to start in rain, shine, heat, or cold! We cut up 4-6 trees a day, and I couldn't ask for a better saw! My second saw is just as dependable as the first! September 4, 2011
