Superior saw, excellent value. I bought this saw a year and a half ago for my birthday and have never looked back. I burn about 15 full cord a year in a outdoor boiler heating a 4000 sq ft home including domestic hot water and an in-ground pool. I buy log-length from a local logger and take it the rest of the way myself. The 455 is an awesome saw. Period. Starts every time and has more than enough power for my needs. I run a 20 inch bar which is plenty for the size logs I cut. Recommendations? Keep your gas fresh and treated. Keep your chains sharp. Wear chaps! February 23, 2011
Great saw , sarts in all weather easily Chains by HUSQVARNA seem to be made from harder steel than most, sharpness last longer but it is harder to sharpen. wears out fiules quickly. Decompression makes saw start even in thecoldest weather. February 23, 2011
price point vs performance I shopped stihl, jonsreds and Husqvara and found this saw had all the power I needed for alot less money. Also, the saw weighs less so extended operating time without fatigue is a plus. February 23, 2011
No wrench tightening I chew through 4 cords of wood and multiple farm "after storm" clean ups yearly. I used to hate having to carry around the hex wrench to tighten the chain on my chainsaw. How many times did I leave it back in the barn or lose it in the field! I would put off the chain sawing for as long as I could. Now, with the Twist/Tighten/Twist innovation (TNT, I call it) that lets me tighten the chain without fumbling around for that hard to find hex wrench, the storm debri and winter wood work are a pleasure. I'd love to thank the guy(s) who came up with the concept! PS, the thing starts in 2-3 pulls. I hope this thing lasts a LONG time! February 23, 2011
