Perfect Homeowner Saw
Needed a chainsaw to clear fallen trees...an 18" oak, a 16" oak, and two 20" pines. Never owned a chainsaw but I've used them enough. Knew the Husky brand from TV ads, and the Still brand from experience. My wife expected to pay only $200 based on some box store saws. Researched for a day and purchased from ChainsawsDirect b/c of their customer service and informed advice. Saw arrived on time and perfectly tuned. We're on 3 acres with about 100 trees, but several manage to come down every year (Nor'easters). We also travel for firewood every year, but now we'll be cutting our own.
This saw is brilliant. Get it in the 16" bar to optimize its 2.8 HP and get the most out of it. Also think the narrow-kerf chain is great. Really well-thought-out saw. Managed to get everything cut and stacked in 12 hours...the large oaks were easily handled and the pines were like bread. Now I want another Husky, for a 30" oak we need to fell. And my wife has already said yes! This saw has me looking for more to cut. Just can't say enough. Quick starts too in 10° temps. Super clean and straight cuts as well. And you'll really appreciate its power-to-weight ratio if you're climbing with it and when limbing. Finally, no need for the pro magnesium case as the plastic here is solid. Best consumer choice I've ever made, and my wife is comfortable using it as well.

I bought this saw for firewood. I talked with a dealer about my needs and he recommended the saw. I ran it last year and cut about 7 cord. I started out cutting lodgepole pine which it tore through. The lodgepoles were about a foot in diameter. Then my buddies and I got into cutting doug fir for firewood. These were some big trees like 2 and 3 feet across. The saw did good, but Im looking at a 555 saw already. Ill keep my 445 around, it will still be used when I get into smaller trees for sure. It hasnt given me any problems. For how light weight it is it sure eats up wood.

Great chainsaw for a woman
I am a 60 year old woman who needed a chainsaw for around my property. This saw is lightweight, has loads of power and VERY easy to start. I would highly recommend this chainsaw.

I bought 445 husky from local dealer. I have cut 1.5 cords of wood and have brought saw back to dealer twice. The chain bar sprocket seizes and therefor is useless. Dealer told me to clean saw more often, I told dealer that I used husky for 35 yrs. at work and never maintained a saw that way. I am a retired lineman for power company and we never did that during storm jobs. dealer gave me new bar seized while cutting second tree needles to to say a i am not very happy with saw!!!!!

My first Saw
This saw has been a great purchase. It has been a very good running saw with plenty of power for what I am using it for. Can be a little trough starting at first but every saw starts differant so it is probably more me needing to get used to how this saw starts.

Your missing out without one !
It's a long story, but I wound up having to full fill an obligation to buy this saw once t.s.c. did the closeout/buy back. At first I was NOT happy that I got myself into a position that I had to buy it. The folks at Tractor Supply ROCK. There was a misscomunication and the local mgr., Kevin and crew scoured all 1,000 plus stores, and found, and GOT ME the last one. I didnt want to spend the money once the saw arrived, we all know how quick budgets can change, but after all the effort that was made to accomadate me, I would have been a jerk not getting it, that being said, THIS SAW was one of the best deals I have ever gotten due to the clearance price ! The way the saw performs, m.s.r.p. is an OUTSTANDING VALUE. I use this saw amongst many others profesionally, and it is truley my favorite ! With a 16 in. bar and the power the saw has, it enables one to take on MUCH larger tasks than most 16's can handle ! I'm sure an 18 in. would be just as good, I prefer the 16 in. beast myself. If you need a "smaller" saw for the job, or your a homeowner who wants to be prepared and doesen't need a saw to run everyday but plans on using it a few times a week, this is your all around homeowner/ excessive user saw with the MOST BANG for your BUCK ! It has been a flawless saw for the 5 mnths. I have owned it and excpect it to be for years to come. The only hesitation of ANY Husqvarna saw is the warranty ! That is the one dept. Husqvarna has let me down on, not on this saw, but with others. With all the competition out there, and the proven fact that Husqvarna is a top name , if they don't get there act together with there warranty's, specificaly "fuel" related, they will be loosing LOT'S of buissiness as there top competitor's warranty dept. is a "no hassle" process ! Step it up Husq, I own over 7 different variaties of Husq. products and am to the point I am paranoid if something goes wrong and I have to go through the warranty process again ! However, this saw is a TRUE winner and I HIGHLY recommend you get one AND that the folk's @ Husqvarna realize that one of the main reasons they have had the success they have is due to there customer relations and HOPE they realize they need to back up what people spend a LOT of money on mostly for the brand name !

When I tried to register my product for the warrenty online the website would not let me register the product. I had to have the dealer register the product. It was a big hassle. I should be able to just send in a card, and not have to go through all those problems. If I knew it was going to be such a hassle I would have never bought this saw. I almost took it back, and if the dealer had not been able to register it, I would have took it back. I would have let everyone I knew about the difficulty.
