4403 chain saw
after burning up 2 Craftsman saws, I decided it was time to upgrade. Looked a Stihl but came back to Husqvarna for price and features. Used it to cut down a 15 inch 40 foot tall Pinetree for my father after trimming up some brush and thought I would run out of gas. Gas consumption is great. Starts great, chain cuts great however saw clutch would bog down every so often and smoke would came out of clutch area. I chalk it up to new saw.

Great chainsaw, once you figure out manual
After many other brands of chainsaws in my life, I finally
decided to try a Husqvarna. I opted for the 440e because I
figured it had a little more power with the 16-inch bar for
the small trees on the property. I read the manual several
times trying to figure out how to start it, how to operate it
and how to maintain it. I finally gave up and tried a few
things. Finally got it started by applying the choke,
hitting the prime bulb 6X and holding the trigger while pulling the cord. Once I got it running, it cut through the toughest wood like a knife through butter. Time will tell
about the durability. In the meantime, perhaps someone
at Husqvarna will take these reviews seriously and write a
manual that makes sense. I would do it, but they sure would
not recommend the steps I took to get it running.

Great Chainsaw!
It's easy to use and does a great job. It's fairly easy to clean - but it's designed so it doesn't get clogged with wood chips/dust. It's worked well taking down about a dozen trees and trimming others.

Best saw for the money
I finally decided to spend my money on this saw instead of buying another cheap one, best choice i ever made. Ergonomics are great, never get sore or tired using it and always starts on 1 to 3 pulls and love the toolless chain tensioning. My old saws always needed chain bar adjustment every few minutes. Buy this saw you won't regret it.

User manual doen't fit chainsaw
Bought my saw. Opened the book. Found the book indecipherable. Got the self tension adjusting saw with directions for how to adjust with a wrench. Nope. So I got a saw and can't use it. Can't call customer support because when I need them they are not there. Have to rememeber to not use my saw on weekends, Than;s if I ever actually get to use it.

Great saw for homeowners
I love this saw. It works great for homeowners and small clearing jobs. I`ve had this 440 with an 18" blade(replaced the 16")for over three years and it has never let me down.Starts 3rd pull everytime. I cut about 4 cords a year for firewood and do some landscaping around the home. I recently bought 4 acres of heavy wooded land and am in the process of clearing it for building. My little 440 has gave it a valiant effort but I have to move up to something bigger. The 24-36" oaks are too much for it. Mind you it does the job but it requires to much muscle and time. Looks like a 460 Rancher is in my future.
