Pleased with product and exceptional service
Purchased my first Husky recently. Have had several high and low end saws. The new 435 was purchased from Mike at Evans Saw Shop in Green Forest.
The saw is great. Starts first time every time, runs good and cuts spectacularly.
However the service I received from Mike was above and beyond everything I had expected.
Good Job Husqvarna on vetting your dealers.
I am impressed!

Does not work with Ethanol in the Gas
I purchased a Husqvarna chainsaw because my brother has had two of them for many years and they are still performing well. I had to return the first one because it was hard starting and would cut out quite often. The second one worked for a couple months and then I had to have it serviced because it would cut out when full power was applied. I was told that the problem was the gas / oil mixture but I was using Husqvarna oil and mixing the recommended amount and still had the problem. I switched to using gas that had no ethanol in it (which luckily just became available at a local gas station) and it has been working better but is still cutting out a lot.

Great saw for it's size and price
Last year I had the unfortunate accident of a tree falling on my very reliable Husqvarna 142 saw. I loved this little saw and it was a very good tool. I needed to get another smaller saw to pair up with my 455 Rancher and after looking at a couple at my farm store it was between the 240 and 435. A couple of small features I liked on the 435 over the 240-
1. The top cover clips instead of the screws that tend to vibrate loose.
2. The integrated choke, stop lever.
3. The engine size, yes, size matters, but still light enough to handle all day.
I used the 435 for a few hours today and it ran flawlessly and had great power and agility. Cutting mostly limbs and smaller logs into burnable pieces, this saw screamed for full throttle cutting into some of the larger logs I handled today. This is my 3rd Husqvarna, and they still have my business.

Brand new 435 from Lowe's out of the box, started fine, won't idle...stalls. No power on the high throttle end. Expected more from Husky...digging for receipt now and have to drive 25 min to a Husky dealer. I even splurged for the pre-mixed in-store fuel.

Good Saw but has issues
I like Huskvarna products and own two other Husky saws. This one is my least favorite. It is great in most aspects but, as others have noted, it has starting issues. Like the Husky technical guy noted, you should only pull the starter twice on choke (when cold), then switch to half choke (or no choke) before pulling that cord again. I discovered this from the dealer. Many of the Husky string trimmers work this way too. Otherwise the saw can be impossible to start. It is often hard to start when warm too and seems to overheat if you accumulate too much oil and sawdust debris under the chain/drive cover. Once you figure out these idiosyncrasies, it's a great saw. I'd recommend running the narrow kerf .325/.50 chain on a 16" narrow kerf bar for your best cutting speed. I also own an older 41 model that's cut through almost 40 cords in 15 years. It's almost as powerful and much more user friendly but not available new anymore.

Nice Homeowner Chainsaw
I've only used this saw several times but it is just right for the homeowner that has occasional trees, limbs, to cut up. It seems durable, and has started fairly easily. The build quality seems heavy-duty and it is easy to add gas and bar oil. I had one fairly large, and 3 smaller willows, to cut down and limb out. It performed this task easily. This is the first gas chainsaw I have owned and it is nice. I have had numerous electric chainsaws, but this one is much more powerful and more portable. Our property is large enough electric is out of the question. This saw will be all I ever need and the price was reasonable. I feel very positive about this purchase!

A great homeowner level chainsaw
Right out of the box, I had trouble starting. I'm not a newbie, I was in the landscaping business and owned 3 heavy duty chainsaws, and other motored tools, so I'm quite familiar with the starting procedure. I couldn't get it fired once following the direction that came with the tool. I even went online to get some help, but only thing they offered was the support group, other users, and their advice was nothing new and didn't help to start the machine. I finally had to take it to the dealer service and ever since, it starts consistently. Once warmed up, it can idle without conking out, which is always a challenge for a small power tools such as 435. My only complaint other than the out-of-box starting problem, is the thinness of left grip (tube diameter) I don't even have a large hand but even for me I would prefer a little thicker grip. I was getting a cramp on my hand after an hour of cutting. After an hour of use, no oil dripping, and easy tension adjustment which typically requires frequently. A solid product at the end of the day.

Great saw terrible oiler design
This saw is lite great power for its size (medium size hardwood) Runs great if you get if you do a lot of cutting at one time the chain over heats causing the saw to work harder. There is no adjustment for chain oil which is why i am not happy with the saw their design controls oil flow via a hole in the bar. Not only can it clog easily, it does not allow enough oil on the bar. For whatever reason it will eventually leak and then you have to get a new bar to fix it.
