Great axe for the money!
I researched this axe extensively before I purchased one and I am not disappointed. The axe head is hand forged in Sweeden and fitted with a very solid hickory handle that is wooden wedge and round metal pin attacched snuggly in the eye. The handle is very ergonomicly designed and the grain in the handle runs almost perfectly verticle with the bit making it very strong. The bit was pretty sharp to start with but a few strokes of a good stone and she is razor sharp. Mine is actually called a Forest Axe with a 26" handle. Performance in the timber has been very satisfactory with the bit holding its edge very well and the bit geometry is very effective for chopping considering the weight of the axe. The axe comes with a leather protective cover for the bit edge that fits well. For the money you will be hard pressed to find a better axe. I highly recommend this axe!
