Nice carpenter's axe
I am both a woodworker and a camper. I bought this axe for general bushcraft use. The handle is ergonomically shaped, properly fitted to the axe head, and oil finished. The grinding job wasn't very good, but a few minutes on a belt sander fixed that. The axe can be sharpened keenly enough to shave hair. By thinning down the bit and giving the edge a high polish I was able to take down an 8" sweet gum tree in 5 minutes with it. I've used the axe to make feather sticks, rough out a wooden spoon, and chop down a few trees. While a little heavy for backpacking, this axe is a great all around chopping tool. I'm very happy with the quality and features of this medium sized axe.

After doing some research about axes I heard about husqvarna and they're quality. I liked the size of this axe for camping. Not too big but large enough for some heavier work. I really like the shape of the axe head too. It does as they said it would. It allows me to get my hand almost compley behind the edge of the axe. Also when my hand is choked up that high the axe is almost perfectly balanced making it easy to control for fine whittling and carving. I'm Very happy with the handle as well. The grain seems to run nicely parallel the blade (as it should) and no defects to speak of.
My only negative comment is that the axe head wasn't as nicely finished as I feel it could have been. There were deep grind marks on the face of the axe that could have been smoothed out. But with a little elbo grease and some sandpaper I was able to get them out.
Overall a great axe.
I'm really glad I got two. One for me and one for my cousin.
He's thrilled with it as well.
Thanks husqvarna for making a great tool at a reasonable price! :)
