Husqvarna DS 70 AT

Stand for the really big jobs, with a max. drill bit diameter of 16". The stand has a heavy-duty column with a 2.75" wide profile. Available in two versions, AT and ATS. The AT can be pivoted and tilted, and has a quick connection between column and base. The ATS can be pivoted and tilted, and has a support.

Drill a 15 mm hole for the M12 expander bolt.

Put the drill stand over the expander bolt and tighten the drill stand with a M12 bolt.

Adjust the level screws to reach stability and straightness for the drill stand.
Drill motor attachment

The feed housing on the drill stand consists of a quick-action attachment for drill motors.

Fit the drilling machine in the quick-action attachment.

Use the feeding handle to lock and secure the drill motor.
Pivot the column

Loosen the bolt on the lower right side of the column.

Loosen the quick connector bolt on the lower back side of the column. (This has four 90 degrees positions to lock in).

Rotate the column (360 degrees) to match the correct position.

Lock the two bolts to secure the column.
Tilt the column

Tilt the column

Loosen the two bolts on the base plate.

Adjust the column to match the correct angle. (0 – 180 degrees)

Lock the two bolts to secure the column.
Fit the drill bit

Fit the drill bit on the spindle axis on the motor anti-clockwise (seen from the motor)
Water and hydraulics

Connect the two hydraulic hoses, male and female, to the drill motor. Make sure the couplings are clean. Connect incoming water from the hydraulic power pack.

Switch on the hydraulic power pack and then the motor.

Unlock the locking handle placed on the left side of the feed housing.

Feed the drill motor with the handle. WARNING! Before drilling, check that all locking screws are tightened well. Serious accidents can occur if the concrete core remains in the drill when backing out the drill motor/drill bit from the floor, wall or ceiling. A maximum of one extension module may be used.
Cleaning

Cleaning

It is very important that the drill rig is kept clean and tidy in order to maintain its function. The rig is suitably cleaned using a high pressure washer and then wiped dry.
Lubrication

Lubrication

After washing it is important that the rig’s moving parts are lubricated using standard grease to counteract corrosion on the contact surfaces.

When drilling in an angle, the column is tilted to fit the correct angle (0-180 degrees). The down side of drilling in angle is that the column loses travel length and an extension must often be added to the drill bit. By using the DS 50/70 which can be pivoted as the same time as tilted the travel length is gained back.

The drilling is performed with both an angled and a tilted column.

When drilling in confined spaces or a series of holes the pivot function is usable. By simply pivot the column (360 degrees) to a given hole, a lot of time is saved instead of having to re-place the drill stand for each hole.

In this application the DS 50 is used (same functions as on the DS 70). By loosing the pivot screws the column can be pivoted to the given position. A safe and time saving step to prevent reattaching the drill stand for a new position or location.

The Husqvarna Core Down System, CD 40, is a practical, safe and easy to use drill core collector for the safe collection and removal of concrete drill cores.
Operation

Place the CD 40 in line with the drilled hole.

Clamp the system to the ceiling by loosen the handle and lift it against the ceiling and fasten it.

Lift the wall collector, place it by the drill bit/core and secure.

Lift the drill bit/core and place it in the collector.

Grab the handle and slowly lower the collector until safe height is reached.

Remove the drill bit/core.

Operation

Operation

Simply hold the water collector to the wall and connect the wet vacuum cleaner to it. The vacuum will hold the collector and will also take care of almost all water coming from the drill bit.
