Blower Assisted Collection System
3 Bin ZTR Bagger 966793101
I have a new MZ6128zt and I bought the 3 bin bagger 966793101 for it. This thing was not that difficult to install but you do have to trim the plastic where it meets the deck. I made a template from a piece of card stock to trace the curvature of the deck discharge and transferred it to the blower assembly. At fist use, it worked good even though the tube assembly looks like it was fabricated by a novice DIYer. The little red paddle wheel on the top tube that is,I believe, suppose to indicate air flow was a nice concept but failed. Most of the time it would not spin. A better idea would have been some sort of transparent window or see thru tube where it can be seen from the operators prospective.
As for the blower itself, the belt started failing. It would come off the tension pully and you would never know it wasn't working. This was happening after I would place the belt back in place and activated the PTO. For something that cost me a Grand, I would hope it would work flawlessly. I took my machine back to the Dealer so that he could verify my findings and he agreed that this was not supposed to happen. They contacted Husky and apparently they know this and there is a repair kit for this " Driver Kit Blower model 580975901". I guess we will see if this works or not.
I expected better from Husqarna

looks and ease of on and off
while i have not had this very long, it does seem to do a good job. but the looks and being able to get the blower unit off are very disapointing the tube always looks crooked and bent and doesnt fit properly in the blower unit. you dont always need to pick up every time you mow and to take it off and put on is not easy. and this big bulky blower hanging off the side is hard to get in the shed for storage and seems to bounce on the ground with the slightest bump, waiting for it to break off. my old bagger seemed to do a decent job at half the price. dealer not very helpful and was the only bagger available for the fab. deck
