All Helen Clark needs to do now is watch her new machine set about the task at hand, leaving her to sit back and enjoy her garden. And all at the touch of a button.

The online competition ran in 16 countries earlier this year. Entrants competed on the Husqvarna website to win one of the new Colour Collection Automowers. Fire (orange), Earth (brown), Air (white) and Water (blue) to remind the users of the environmental benefits of the Automower.

But first of all they had to come up with 30 words that defined their own motivation. Mrs Clark’s entry caught the eye of the Husqvarna jury for its clever use of wit,

"Exhausted mum would love a break, from mowing the lawn and using a rake, to enjoying some peace, a nice cup of tea, more time for Hubby, kids and me!"

She is one of three global winners, the other two being in Sweden and Italy, and each winner will receive a different colour Automower 230ACX of their choice. Helen Clark chose blue.

Local Husqvarna dealer Ernest Doe in Maldon was proud to hand over this delightful piece of design worth £2250.

UK winner Helen Clark said of her prize,

“I’m so surprised and delighted to have won, it’s a fantastic prize and I love the colour. It will certainly be useful as I’m expecting a baby in a few weeks!”

The Automower is made at the Husqvarna UK headquarters and maintains a beautiful lawn by a unique, consisent, gradual cutting system. It’s like having

your very own grazing animal! It is electrically powered and keeps emission and noise levels to an absolute minimum, making it perfect for domestic use. As with all Husqvarna designed equipment, it has minimal impact on the environment. A practically invisible perimeter wire during initial set-up is all it needs to guide its own way around the lawn. It will even work independently whilst you go out, rain or shine. The 230 ACX is equipped with an anti-theft alarm and backlit keypad and display.

Ernest Doe is a long established family firm with a network of branches in the south and east of England. With over 110 years of experience repairing, servicing and selling all kinds of machinery, the company offers unrivalled advice in all aspects of machinery purchase and maintenance.
