The red dot design award, founded in 1955 by Design Zentrum Nordrhein-Westfalen in Germany, is one of the most prestigious international awards of its kind. This year, the jury assessed a record-breaking 4.662 products by 1.865 designers, architects and companies from 54 countries – ranging from fashion and accessories to construction projects and vehicles, electronics and furniture. Each product is rated on criteria such as the degree of innovation, functionality, ergonomics, durability and ecological compatibility. And, just like last year, Husqvarna was awarded for a number of different products.
”Four awards is a real achievement. This shows that design certainly makes a difference, that our focus on humanized technology is appreciated on a global scale and that this strengthens our brand. We also appreciate that the jury awarded our efforts to protect the environment with our recently launched battery-powered Husqvarna range, featuring lightweight and silent products with no direct emissions," says Towe Ressman.
The grand award ceremony will be held at a gala event in Essen, Germany on July 1 and all winning contributions will be put on a special exhibition at the red dot design museum from July 2 to 28.
