Our powerful WS 463 and WS 462 hydraulic wall saws are designed to create efficient working environments. The blade is positioned closer to the track, for increased performance. This also reduces the breaking force, improves sawing accuracy and reduces wear. The wall saws are built on a modular system, where each module has an optimum weight.

Benefits

Very powerful hydraulic wall saw, 20 kW, for heavy sawing.

Quick connection

The quick connection makes it easy to attach the saw unit to the carriage. First, you press the saw unit into place on the carriage, and then you attach the unit using the locking device.
Radial connection

The saw has a radial connection on the blade that makes changing the blade extremely easy, particulary when flush cutting.
Universal mounting

The smart and flexible universal mounting is a fairly revolutionary accessory that saves energy and time. Because the mounting pivots when positioned on the wall, it is simple to reposition the track during cutting. The mounting also allows you to easily carry out bevel cutting and stair cutting at a variety of angles.
Remote control

The wireless remote control has an ergonomic design with a large and clear display, which shows the current performance of the saw. The menu system has features such as load indicator, rpm, run time, calibration and stopwatch. This helps the user become more efficient in the daily work. The remote control is powered by one battery. It is equipped with a CAN cable that also can transfer power and be used for service.

Wall mounting

Wall mounting 1/4

There are two types of mounting brackets available for the Husqvarna WS 400 series. One, the standard wall mounting to the right, which is supplied on delivery, and secondly the universal swivel mounting brackets to the left.

Wall mounting 2/4

Use the universal mounting brackets when cutting doors, cutting flush, cutting at angles and stair cutting as well as groove cutting. If you only require an everyday straight cut you use the fixed mounting. Fit the universal mounting brackets for the required cutting method.Note Find more information in the Tips section.

Wall mounting 3/4

Fit the standard mounting brackets as set out below:

Mark off the cutting line and mark off the expander bolts holes 165 mm from the cutting line.

Drill 15 mm holes for the M12 expander bolts.

Hang the mounting brackets loosely from the expander bolts, using M6S 12 x 70 or similar.

Wall mounting 4/4

Adjust the distance between the cutting line and the mounting brackets. The distance between the edge and the inner face of the saw cut should be 89 mm. Tighten the expander bolts.

Place the rail in the mounting brackets and tighten the compression washers.

Check that the rail sits correctly in the slots in the mounting brackets.
Connect Power Pack

Connecting Power Pack 1/4

Connect the incoming power cable (400 V, 63 A or 400 V, 32 A).

Connect the incoming water hose to the water coupling on the bottom of the motor front on the hydraulic unit.

Connect the remote control using the supplied Canbus cable. Tighten the cable connector screws by hand. When the machine is equipped with a radio, a radio antenna can be connected instead of a Canbus cable. This is screwed into the same socket as where the Canbus cable should have been fitted.

Connecting Power Pack 2/4

Check that the emergency stop switches on the power pack and the remote control have not been actuated by turning them in the direction of the arrow.

The display now shows “SELECT FUSE 63A”. If the available fuse is 63 A, confirm this by pressing the membrane key marked “OK”.

Connecting Power Pack 3/4

There are two types of hydraulic hoses for the saw: The four thin hoses control the feed motors, i.e. the saw's travel feed on the rail and the feed - removal of the blade. The two thick hoses drive the blade. The couplings should be wiped clean to reduce the risk of leakage before the hoses are fitted. Both the thin and thick hoses are locked by turning the outer sleeve on the female coupling so that the groove in the sleeve moves away from the ball.

Connecting Power Pack 4/4

Connect the hydraulic hoses on the saw in the same way as on the power pack.

Connect the water hose to the water coupling on the saw unit.

Confirm that hoses are connected correctly.

The hydraulic output must be set according to which machine is connected to the hydraulic unit. Select one of the following:

• 25 kW, 230 bar, 65 l/min

• 15 kW, 210 bar, 45 l/min or

• 9 kW, 140 bar, 40 l/min

Press OK to confirm the selection.

The display now shows “Husqvarna PP 455E START MOTOR”.
Assembling the saw

Assembling the saw

Fit the saw body in the saw carriage by lifting the saw body into position. When the saw is lifted into position, the locking handle moves into an intermediate position. In this position the saw remains in the saw carriage without it needing to be held. However, it is not sufficiently secured to begin cutting. To secure the saw, lift the locking handle towards the saw until the handle locks in position.Note With a vertical cut it is usually simpler to assemble the saw in the saw carriage with the handle upwards on the rail. WARNING! To cut without the saw securely assembled in the saw carriage and rail is associated with mortal danger.
Fit the blade

Start by removing any dirt from the contact surfaces on the blade flange and blade.Check the blade's direction of rotation. The blade should rotate clockwise seen from the saw side and the released part of the diamond should lie in the blade's direction of rotation.

Fit the blade 2/2

Make sure the blade flange hub is fitted correctly on the cutting arm.

Hang the blade on the blade flange hub fitted on the cutting arm.

Mount the thrust washer on the blade by using the supplied 18-spanner to tighten the bolt until it is properly secured (tightening torque 30-40 Nm). Note Find other ways how to fit the blade using the blade flange hub in the “Tips” section under “flush cutting” WARNING! Exercise care when assembling the blade so that it does not risk becoming loose when cutting.

Lift the blade guard over the blade and hang the guard in the blade guard holder on the saw. Exercise care so that the runners on the blade guard are positioned in the slots on the water block.

Lock the blade guard by pulling the handle out from the guard. When the guard needs to be removed, press the handle in towards the guard.

Before cutting

Enclose the area to be cut so that unauthorised persons can not be injured or disturb the operator. Check that the blade guard is not damaged or broken. A broken or damaged blade guard must never be used. If cutting is to begin in another position than where the saw unit is located, run the saw unit to the start position. WARNING! A higher speed than the recommended speed can result in personal injury and damage to the equipment.

Cutting 1/2

Always start by cutting a pilot cut. This is done by feeding the blade 3-7 cm. Now make the pilot cut. The cut should not be made at maximum speed, but with care in order to obtain a straight cut and with that a basis for the next cut.

Cutting 2/2

When the pilot cut is finished, a deeper cut can be made. The depth of these is determined from instance to instance and depends on factors such as hardness of the concrete, existence of reinforcing bar, etc. As the rail is symmetrical, the saw unit can be turned to make a new cut on the other side of the rail. The c-c measurement will then be 328 mm. In this way a cut piece is obtained that is in an easily handled size, making it easier to remove from the workplace. Note When the saw is turned on the rail, the water jet will be positioned away from the blade and will spray in the opposite direction, possibly up towards the ceiling.

Once cutting is completed, remove the blade from the wall and shut down the blade rotation and the water flow. Shut down the hydraulic unit.
Cleaning

Cleaning

The saw should be cleaned once cutting is finished. It is important to clean all the saw equipment. It is a good idea to disconnect the water hose from the pivot arm and use this to wash down the saw unit, rail, blade guard, wall mounting. If necessary you can also use a dish-brush or the like to clean the equipment. Do not use a high pressure washer to clean the saw.
Maintenance

Maintenance

In addition to the daily maintenance such as cleaning and lubrication, the machine must be serviced. When it is time for a service the text “time for service” is shown on the display on the remote control. After 50 hours of cutting, the machine should be serviced at an accredited Husqvarna workshop. The saw should then be serviced after every 100 hours of operation. The service is important so that as the user you have a machine that works as effectively as possible for a long time.

The mounting bracket is designed to be used when sawing chamfered surfaces, angle sawing, stair sawing etc. The brackets have two joints to make mounting easier on any wanted surfaces. The adjustment spline makes it easier to place the rail in the right position. Due to the pivoted construction a radial attachment of the blade is not necessary since it’s possible to angle the rail with the saw mounted.

Fit the mounting brackets, rail, and saw unit according to separate manual.

Start by sawing a vertical cut on the left or right side.

When each cut is finished, the complete unit is turned to fit next cut.

In this application the saw unit is turned anti-clockwise.

Finish by cutting the upper horizontal cut.

Remove the concrete block. Note It is very important to begin to saw a vertical cut and then continue with the lower horizontal cut. Using this method the last cut will be the top horizontal cut, which minimize the risk for the saw to get stuck under the concrete block.

Fit the rail, saw head, blade and blade guard.

Put the blade flange hub on the blade.

Use the six supplied internal hexagon screw to attach the hub on the blade.

Hang the blade with the blade flange hub on the cutting arm.

Carefully turn the blade until the hub locks onto the cutting arm.

Press in the blade spindle into the cutting arm at the same time as the blade is rotated carefully. When the blade spindle can no longer be pressed in by hand it should be tightened using the supplied 18-spanner until it is properly secured (tightening torque 30-40 Nm). WARNING! Exercise care when assembling the blade so that it does not risk becoming loose when cutting.

In this setup a cut is being made directly against the floor. By using this blade flange hub and flush cutting blade guard the work can be done faster and more operator friendly than conventionally methods.
