Husqvarna offer brushcutters that are developed for a wide range of tasks: cutting grass, weeds, brushwood, trees and more. They are also compatible with a number of smart accessories. The brushcutter line-up includes a variety of engine sizes, each one tailor-made for a certain job size – and to make sure that you get the right one for your needs we recommend starting by asking yourself the following questions:
- Is the vegetation I plan to cut especially demanding? If so, look for a brushcutter with high power and high torque.
- Will I be traveling between different places in need of trimming/cutting? If so, go for a model with a foldable handlebar and/or detachable shaft. That makes it easy to stow in your car or truck.
- Will I be working for long periods of time? If so, choose a fully commercial model with good ergonomics. Make sure that there’s also a comfortable harness included to minimize the strain on your body. Besides making the experience much more comfortable it also improves the maneuverability.
- Will I need more than the brushcutter function in the future? If so, be sure to choose a combi model that is accessory compatible.
Edward Andria, Product Manager at Husqvarna Canada, what advice would you give to someone who is about to buy their very first brushcutter?
“Start by asking yourself what kind of job the bruscutter will perform. But also, what challenges might be waiting down the line. When the scope of work has been narrowed down, you usually have about 2-3 different models to choose from.”
What model would you recommend for first time users – and why?
“It all depends on the job. As a first time homeowner, looking for an easily manoeuvrable tool for light trimming, I would recommend the Husqvarna 128R. However, if you’re looking for a more versatile product that can be used for trimming, tilling, sweeping or cutting, I would recommend the 122LDX, 128LDX, 324LDX or 327LDX. The 122LDX has the lowest price and the 327LDX offers the highest performance. When it comes to professional jobs, the 300 and 500 series cover pretty much every imaginable need. Visit your local Husqvarna dealer to get feedback on the best product for you.”
